What to Expect on a Sunday Morning
Worship Services
During the school year, we usually have two worship gatherings each Sunday morning where we express our worship to God together - 10:15 AM. During the summer vacation season, we have only one Sunday morning service which is at 10:15 AM preceded by Bible study for all ages beginning at 9:00 AM. You will find some attenders dressed more formally while others are very casual. Wear something you feel comfortable in, that you think God would also like. Our music is a blend of older traditional hymns and more contemporary worship songs. In addition to singing, there are times of prayer and a biblical teaching that tends to last between 30 and 40 minutes. An offering will be received from those who desire to participate, but no one is obligated to give, especially not our guests. As a response to the teaching time, there is normally an invitation to reflect on what has been taught and to respond to God accordingly. Though we try to focus on God rather than on ourselves as attenders, those of us present usually find that we leave encouraged and uplifted for having entered into God's presence in worship together. The entire service usually runs between 60 and 75 minutes.
If You Have Children
We offer nursery and preschool classes for children under four years old throughout the morning. Before the teaching time in each worship service, children ages 4 - third grade are dismissed for "Junior Church" where they will have activities and teaching more adapted to their age level. We really desire that children will experience church as a safe, fun, loving place where they grow in their understanding and experience of God. This begins in our nursery and continues right on through the school years.
We realize that your children are your most precious earthly treasures so we take it seriously that you would entrust them to our care. A parent will need to sign children in and out of the nursery and preschool classes. Additionally, all children in kindergarden and younger will receive a wristband with a number that corresponds to a matching parent's wristband. The parent with the wristband will need to pick up the child at the end of class. We'll also check to make sure there are no allergies or health issues that might negatively affect your children. Each of our classes will normally have two adults in addition to any other helpers. The workers will have been interviewed, screened and trained to offer your children an environment that we can all feel good about.
Bible Instruction
We provide Bible classes for all ages from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM during the summer vacation season. Children's classes are structured by age while adult classes are formed according to elective topics.
