Reaching out...
The video above is a unique look at how we typically invite our friends/family/acquaintances into our church "circle". So many times we over-think our invitation/interaction with those we invite to church and aren't ready for their response.
As we studied the passage of Luke 19, we watched Jesus simply reach out to Zacchaeus. As we studied Luke 19 we asked ourselves the question, "Am I reaching out?".
It's my prayer that this week you've made an effort to reach out. Be bold. Take the opportunity God has set in your path to reach out to those in need. Whether that means inviting someone to church, or simply providing someone with food and water. Are you listening to Him... Are you responding to Him...
Be ready to reach out!

Palm Sunday
This Sunday is Palm Sunday. A Sunday when we celebrate Christ's triumphant entry into the city of Jerusalem. A day when Jerusalem celebrated a King who would free them from the tyranny of the Roman government. But, like most things in life, the Jerusalem crowds didn't get what they expected. The Messiah they expected to overthrow their Roman rulers came not in awe and might, but in meekness and peace.
As we look back this Sunday, I'd encourage you to look inward, and prepare for what Christ is doing in your heart. Are you listening to his voice in His Word?
Take some time this week, and prepare your hearts for Pastor Dale's sermon, and our Sunday School lesson.
Suggested reading for Palm Sunday: Matthew 21:1-11; Mark 11:1-10; Luke 19:28-38; and John 12:12-18

This Sunday, we will delve into a story of forgiveness and love. In Luke we are introduced to a father and son...
Take this week to prepare yourselves for the message in God's word about forgiveness and love. No matter how big the mistake our God's love and forgiveness is GREATER!

Making it PERSONAL...
Each year we celebrate Easter. But, so many times, we celebrate the holiday, and not the real reason for Easter. As we prepare our hearts for Christ's Death, Burial, and Ressurection; I pray you make it personal. I pray you take some time to focus on what Christ did for you and I before, during, and after the cross. Take a quick look at the video below, and ask yourself if you've made it PERSONAL?
I'd invite you to use the reading guide below as we prepare for Sunday's study!

Salt and Light...
Last Sunday we looked at Christ's challenge for us to be Salt and Light. We answered the question of what does it mean to be salt and light. Quite simply, Christ is calling us to be salt and light in our world. We are to be agents of change. We are called to be light in a dark world and salt in a dying world. As believers we need to be active in our culture. We need to bring light to the darkness and life to the dying.
But how?
That was the question we left you with last Sunday, and I hope you've thought through this question. How can we as teens be salt and light to our culture. Please take a few moments and leave comments to this post that answer the question of "How can WE be Salt and Light?"

Love Everyone With The Gospel
On Sunday as a class we discussed the concept of sharing the Gospel with everyone. We discussed the idea that we are compelled to share what we have. We are compelled to share because of what God's Son did for us. This fact causes us to wonder why we don't.
Here's the video I referenced in our study,
So, this video begs the question, How much do you have to hate someone to not share the gospel with them?
Do you care enough about your friends, acquaintances, and neighbors to step out of your comfort zone and share Christ?

Where are we going, and What are we doing?
In this initial post, I'd like to give you a glimpse of what we're getting ourselves into next week. On our NC trip, we'll be rehabbing low-income housing. Here's a little more information about the area we'll be serving:
Located 20 miles south of the state capital of Raleigh, North Carolina, Fuquay Varina and Harnett County is a very large, but often forgotten area of need. It is an area where some still do not have indoor plumbing, where 15% of the population is below the poverty level and where many have not heard the Gospel. In this distinctive rural setting, Harnett County Social Services has their finger on the housing needs of this community. The needs include roofs, porches, handicap ramps and painting.
As you read this post, and look at the following homes, I'd ask you to pray for us. Pray that we might serve as Christ served!
Pray that we would be Ready... Ready to Love, Ready to Change, and Ready to Serve...
